Self-discipline requires repetition—but repetition is much easier when students are engaged.

That’s why Legacy 22 classes are fast-paced, varied, and exciting. From there, students build the discipline to stay focused even when the excitement fades.

Mastery over yourself begins with a compelling vision. Your child will be offered several: earning a black belt, transforming yourself, mastering self-defense, and more.

With something meaningful to work toward, students learn to work harder, exercise greater self-control, and carry those habits into the rest of their lives.

Every class includes lighthearted, and sometimes serious, contests that teach students how to win and lose with grace.

Winning means no bragging. Losing means no excuses, take accountability, learn, and come back better. We ingrain that into our students’ minds.

Students gradually face safe but increasingly high-pressure challenges at Legacy. Because the training is physical and individual, students learn to stay composed under real pressure, making many challenges outside the school feel easy by comparison.

At the end of each class, students are evaluated and receive points based on their effort and performance. This positive feedback loop tends to spread into other areas of our students’ lives. Because self-discipline is a very habitual virtue.

Yes, a part of self-discipline is also following instructions. Especially for children. We impart this quality not by the rigid “Because I said so” mentality.

But rather, by getting them to understand the value of following moral instructions from a wise instructor who has their best interest in mind.

As well as with positive incentives. The carrot is usually mightier than the stick.
