Instructor Conduct You Can Rely On

All of our classes are in plain view for all parents to see. We have nothing to hide.

In our classes, males are partnered with males and females are partnered with females. Girls will never have to touch the boys and vice versa.

Our instructors are thoroughly trained on what kind of physical corrections are allowed. Any physical corrections are:

1. Necessary
2. Brief.
3. Targeted (hard body parts like ankles & wrists).

To be clear, these rules mostly refer to opposite sex instructors. A grown man giving a physical correction to a 14 year old boy is decidedly different than to a 14 year old girl.

Children are children. They need to be reminded of clear standards every single class. This is especially true in a martial arts school with grappling and limited striking.

It takes one minute and it makes a massive difference.

In 80% of cases, the instructor praising what some students are doing right, instead of punishing or criticizing students doing something wrong, is more effective.

So we always try to start with positivity instead of negativity.

This is a martial arts academy, not a bouncy house. Don’t get it twisted:

We do not tolerate nonsense at Legacy 22.

We will absolutely, without any hesitation, incorporate effective corrective actions that include:

Timeout
Pushups
Loss of Game Time
Lower Student Scores

We do this with no apology whatsoever. Because this is what many children desperately need.

The good news is that out of the thousands of students we have trained, we can count on one hand the amount that we couldn’t handle.

Background checks are not perfect. They cannot catch everything. But they can catch a lot. All of our instructors are formally background checked to ensure a clean and safe legal track record.

All of our instructors are human beings. That means they will make mistakes. We simply always seek improvement to limit those mistakes in the future.

Furthermore, please understand that we also can’t please everyone.

We have the highest of standards when it comes to professionalism. But we do not grant exceptions beyond these standards.
