ANTI-BULLYING
No Child Should Grow Up Afraid
-
Bullies will unfortunately always exist. It will always be important to punish bullying wherever it’s found. But that will never eliminate it.
-
Making a child bully-proof is no easy task. It’s not at all obvious to most parents how exactly they get their child to become resistant to bullies. They simply hope their child doesn’t have to encounter this very painful part of most childhoods. But deep down, we all know that isn’t anywhere near good enough.
-
“Just ignore” the bully. If anything, this empowers the bully even further. Escalation usually ensues.
“Just tell the teacher”. The teachers aren’t always there. They can’t see everything. They can’t hear everything. And they can’t believe everything they’re told. Worse still, many simply don’t know how to actually deal with bullies in the classroom.
“Just stick up to him!” Easier said than done. Assertion requires confidence, ability, and oftentimes a gradual buildup, for many children.
-
When confidence is actually earned, children realize just how resilient they can truly be. They don’t feel so fragile. Their self-worth is high enough to take a stand. Check out our Confidence page to learn more about how Legacy 22 instills durable confidence in children.

With hard work, at Legacy 22, your child can become, in comparison to the average child, exceptionally skilled at self-defense (at least eventually).
There is an extraordinarily rare and special kind of security, safety, & confidence that children enjoy when are genuinely trained in martial arts and self-defense.
Martial Artists are the eternal enemies of bullying.
-
Children have to actually practice self-defense scenarios and other uncomfortable situations, in order to truly become proficient in them.
We offer just that at Legacy 22.
And we offer it in a gradually escalating way, that doesn’t overwhelm new children.
Key striking techniques. Key grappling techniques. Grip fighting. Positional control. The discomfort of someone else trying to control your body. These are normal, not uncomfortable, things that Legacy students practice.
You can’t always be there for your child.
But you can help your child gain the qualities that put bullies in their place.
Don’t let a bully shape your child’s future. Try out a martial arts class at Legacy 22.
This site — and every word on it — was created in-house. It reflects what we genuinely believe and try to live up to at Legacy 22.
