The Tiny Ninjas (ages 3-4)
The key to teaching & growing this age group is to actually understand their very serious limitations. That means keeping instructors largely visual-physical, fun, constantly moving, and extremely simple language & instructions. The focus for this age group is confidence, coordination, & learning how to deal with structure.
The Little Ninjas (ages 5-7)
This is the age at which children can get serious in martial arts, while of course still conforming to important safety standards. The key to this age group is fast-paced training, high energy instruction, & mixing in fun. The focus of this age group is self-control / discipline, confidence, & creating a foundation of martial arts basics.
Kids Martial Arts (ages 8-12)
Great martial arts skills can truly form in this age range. This is a fast-paced and high energy class. The focus of this age group is self-control / discipline, confidence, anti-bullying, & precision in technique.
Teen & Adult Martial Arts (13+)
Our teen and adult programs are intense & with zero childishness. Cringe-free, so to speak. The focus for these programs is self-defense, self-control, fitness, & excellence in technique.

Classes are 45 minutes long. Except for ages 3-4, which are 30 minutes.

You will not find a more organized kid or adult martial arts program. That’s not an exaggeration. All classes are structured down to the very second. We do not “wing it” at Legacy 22.
And the structure is always highly realistic for whichever age group is taking place. We NEVER treat 4 year old classes like 8 year old classes. These age groups are worlds apart.
-
All of our students learn a mixed martial arts curriculum that includes only the most effective and realistic techniques from striking & grappling arts (Muay Thai, Taekwondo, Karate, Jiu Jitsu).
-
In our classes, males are partnered with males and females are partnered with females. Girls do not have to touch the boys and vice versa.
-
Children are children. They need to be reminded of clear standards every single class. This is especially true in a martial arts school with grappling and limited striking.
It takes one minute and it makes a massive difference.
-
All a student needs to bring is a legal guardian, water, & to be dressed in comfortable athletic attire (we provide a uniform to use on the first day over what you decide to wear underneath).
Just for the first day, parents are required to stay and watch. It is optional thereafter.
For the 3-4 year old age group, we do require a legal guardian present for all classes. Not just the first.
You arrive 15 minutes early, sign a waiver, get dressed. Then some one on one time with an instructor before joining a group most similar to your ability level.
-
In 80% of cases, the instructor praising what some students are doing right, instead of punishing or criticizing students doing something wrong, is more effective.
So we always try to start with positivity instead of negativity. -
Students can train between 1 and 5 times per week. Most students train 1 or 2 times per week.
-
It’s often the case that parents are concerned their child either won’t participate, or, won’t listen. A few things:
For the 3-4 year old age group, about 20% do not participate on the first day. Half of those children come back again and try during the next class. The remainder are always welcome back in the future!
High energy, disagreeable, & even defiant children… Oftentimes become some of our best students. Most schools simply don’t know how to channel their energy or motivate compliance. We do. We’re not perfect of course. Some students need more time. But that’s extremely rare.
